No play yet today. They are going to be very late if they play at all. Must be raining again, the web site says showers today.

RFS
17-07-2008, 12:43 PM
Seriously could they have found a wetter place to play?

Expect to see Jamie with webbed feet and hands - the new must-have tennis-in-Austria necessity!

patmoren
17-07-2008, 03:10 PM
Play has started and they are playing all four singles matches simultaneously.

RFS
17-07-2008, 03:11 PM
Phew - they seem to be underway now... let's hope Melzer tires his little self out trying to hit rain and heavy clay-clagged balls all day!

RFS
17-07-2008, 03:59 PM
Pfft - or not! Melzer despatched his quarry in straights, 64 62... oh well... I suspect we might be in for another :sofa: today

patmoren
17-07-2008, 04:18 PM
Play suspended again because of rain. It must be so frustrating for the players.

RFS
17-07-2008, 04:25 PM
At this rate they'll all be in danger of getting trench-foot!

Edit: Uh-oh... my LS shows no one playing - play suspended for the entire day?

janeInScotland
17-07-2008, 06:35 PM
OOP for Friday (http://www2.austrianopen.eu/Libraries/Dokumente/OPFreitag.sflb)

Singles: 3 tbf R2 matches and all 4 QFs. Melzer plays his QF not before 13:00.

Doubles: the 4 matches planned for today.

The Jamies play last, after 2 tbf singles and 2 doubles.

RFS
17-07-2008, 06:50 PM

jane
18-07-2008, 03:57 PM

Allan

patmoren
18-07-2008, 04:22 PM
Why does their serve always go to pot in the second set. It did in the last match but iIthink it will be a bit harder to come back from 3-0 this time.

Sallydaisy
18-07-2008, 04:23 PM

patmoren
18-07-2008, 04:25 PM
I think this one is going to be a bagel. Still it will give Jamie a bit longer to get to Toronto!

Linda
18-07-2008, 04:26 PM
Oh dear, it's not going at all well now.

Michael
18-07-2008, 04:27 PM

janeInScotland
18-07-2008, 04:40 PM
Just arrived - not what I'd hoped to see - c'mon Jamies.

RFS Why does the dot beside your name say you are offline when you obviously are not?? lol

I'd not noticed the dots - are they new? I keep looking back to the forum page to see who's on-line - clearly don't need to do this so often.

Michael
18-07-2008, 04:41 PM
Oh No, they've been broken back. J&J....................please

patmoren
18-07-2008, 04:42 PM

RFS
18-07-2008, 04:46 PM
[/sigh] oh dear...

Assume Jamie reunites with Max in Toronto?

Sallydaisy
18-07-2008, 04:46 PM
:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Oh dear........... well, as someone posted earlier - it gives Jamie time to fly to Toronto over the weekend to acclimatise.
He'll have a few days practising with Andy for the doubles there...

(RFS - Jamie is playing both Masters with Andy in the Doubles - practise for the Olympics).

Michael
18-07-2008, 04:47 PM
:sad::cry::cry::sad:

patmoren
18-07-2008, 04:47 PM
Roll on Toronto. Mind you they didn't disgrace themselves seeing that it was rookie partnership.

jane
18-07-2008, 04:47 PM
Oh what a shame - they tried so hard. Better luck next week Jamie.

RFS
18-07-2008, 04:47 PM
Doh! ignore my last - I completely forgot he was partnering Andy - quelle muppette!

janeInScotland
18-07-2008, 04:48 PM
 I hope that Lindstedt/Melzer go on to win the tournie - to lessen the disappointment.

janeInScotland
18-07-2008, 05:02 PM
(RFS - Jamie is playing both Masters with Andy in the Doubles - practise for the Olympics).

I'm surprised as Max/Jamie need Race points - or don't they see any chance of being in the top 8?

RFS
18-07-2008, 05:06 PM
I suppose with Max being awarded a wildcard to represent Belarus at the Olympics - he'd probably be looking at gettig some singles practice in...

But yeah - I agree it leaves them with not a lot of time to get race points and prep for USO...

Sallydaisy
18-07-2008, 05:10 PM
It's also whether you want the Murrays to represent GBR at the Olympics or Jamie/Max to be in Shanghai.........

RFS
18-07-2008, 05:31 PM
oh don't get me wrong - I think it's great its the Murray's squared in Beijing!

JAMES4579
18-07-2008, 07:24 PM
It was a disappointing result in the end but a good effort all considering. Let's hope for a good showing with Andy.

janeInScotland
19-07-2008, 12:34 AM
It's also whether you want the Murrays to represent GBR at the Olympics or Jamie/Max to be in Shanghai.........

this could lead to an interesting thread - but on which site? I think it should be this site - we really need to get some more of the Andy stalwarts to post here :)

lynne
19-07-2008, 03:42 PM
Could'nt make it yesterday for the match........what a shame you did'nt make it Jamie, so better luck in Toronto!!!!
