Cremona - wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cremona)

Cremona is a city and comune (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comune) in northern Italy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italy), situated in Lombardy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lombardy), on the left bank of the Po River (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Po_River) in the middle of the Pianura Padana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pianura_Padana) (Po valley). It is the capital of the province of Cremona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Province_of_Cremona) and the seat of the local City and Province governments. The city of Cremona is especially famous for its musical history and traditions, including some of the earliest and most renowned luthiers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luthier), (violin makers) such as Guarneri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giuseppe_Guarneri) and Stradivari (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Stradivari).

Jamie & Josh are both in the singles - but Josh plays [3] in R1.

Bloomers & Eaton both played in Qualifying, losing in R2 and R1 respectively.

Ah good, wondered when the draw would be out; good to see the boys are seeded.
Quite a few Brits out there by the looks of it.

I've been working a lot this weekend and I know Hfward has had MinnieMe's 12th birthday to organise!
I have to go out for an hour now ....

One half of their first round opponents was in the team that beat them in the final in Rhodes, Dustin Brown. He is playing with Motti this time but had a very good serve if my memory is right.

Jays' R1 is Monday. Monday's OOP (http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2010/3812/op.pdf) and Livescore (http://www.protennislive.com/frameset.asp?year=2010&wkno=20C&lang=en&tabno=1&eventid=3812&ref=www.atpworldtour.com)

They're the first of 3 doubles matches tomorrow. They're second on Grandstand, after a singles which starts 10am Uk time.

RFS

Good luck Jays!

Just had a look at the livescore (http://www.protennislive.com/frameset.asp?year=2010&wkno=20C&lang=en&tabno=1&eventid=3812&ref=www.atpworldtour.com) - and there are no matches showing.
If they are finishing Qualies they probably won't have it running for them but I hope once the main draw doubles starts that it would come alive!!!
Can't find any other source for Cremona scores at the mo' - and it looks as though I'll have to miss the Jays match 'cos of work.

Good Luck Jamie and Jonny!!!

I'd just been looking for some LS, too.

The Cremona singles matches are listed on http://livescore.com/tennis/ - but no scores so far.

I really must go but have found a livestream here. (http://streaming.aemcom.net/atpstradivari)VERY small screen and can't see the scoreboards!!!
Near court is the main court which features VanderMerwe/Pella. Far court is Nielsen/Mektic ie. the match before Jays.
Scores a bit of a mystery; some being reported (via texts I think) on this MTF thread. (http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=160923&page=5)

I'm outa here..........

Very frustrating - LS now showing Cabal/Naso vs Nielsen/Rettenmaier - the match after Jamie's - and no results. :(

I emailed them about 30 mins ago asking them when LS would start working and what was Jamie's score - no reply (yet :rolling:).

Allan
17-05-2010, 01:29 PM
A post on MTF says "Brown/Motti already out" which means that the JMs won. :)

pat, the LS seems to be working now. It's showing 2 doubles matches on it and one result - but didn't start until after Jamie's match.

This is one of the worst run events I've seen.

The ATP site links (Combo, SD, DD and OOP) are all bringing up last week's Bordeaux draw

The event site (http://www.csstradivari.it/css_files/index_01.htm) seems to be okay.

3 doubles on Tuesday including Delgado/Goodall last on Ct 3.

GBR interest in 2 singles starting 10am UK time:
Goodall first on Center CT &
Baker first on Granstand

just seen LS, josh goodall lost his first set on a TB7, 17-19, took about 12mins! he did well, came back from 2 -5, but had a chance at 11-10. both put in second serves a lot, but soeda sent down the odd ace too.
jamie baker is a set and a break up, played most of his second set while the TB was on.

Sallydaisy
18-05-2010, 10:52 AM
Jamie Baker is through 6'3, 6'4.
Hope Josh can recover from that marathon tie-breaker and win the next 2 sets (and the match of course!).

Sallydaisy
18-05-2010, 11:26 AM
Poor Josh - he lost the match against Soeda. 7'6(17) and 7'6(4).

harriet
18-05-2010, 11:29 AM
jamie baker went on to win easily.
but josh goodall lost the will to live in the second set TB7. he came back from a break down,0-2, at start of set, went to TB, was a mb ahead, soeda serving at 2-4, but josh never won another point and went down 7-4. took just over 2 hours

janeInScotland
18-05-2010, 04:03 PM
Delgado/Goodall could be ages yet. :(

It follows the Slanar/Pospisil singles which has just gone into a 3rd set - and has already been on court 2hrs 28mins! Maybe one of them will tire - though they're at deuce in the first game!

janeInScotland
18-05-2010, 04:34 PM
The singles finished with a quick last set - so the match was 1 minuts short of 3 hours :rolling: fyi 6-1 to the Austrian in the 3rd set.

Delgy/Goodall next - good luck to them.

The seeds in their Quarter are Cerretani/Shamasdin [3] who lost today to two French guys (10-7 in CTB).

janeInScotland
18-05-2010, 04:59 PM
3-0* to the Fins :(

*4-0  (2nd break)
4-1

janeInScotland
18-05-2010, 06:14 PM
CTB time - I'm joining it at 6-5 to the Brits (set scores 7-5 3-6)

GBR serving 6-6 6-7 - not good
FIN serving 6-8 6-9 - so 3mps to the FINs - they only need 1

FINs win 5-7 6-3 10-6

interesting that peya and slanar are playing a singles game against each other, then come out, after the JRays game, to form a dubs team - wonder if they toss up for the singles, or whether that is the priority and the dubs is the makeweight?

Sallydaisy
20-05-2010, 11:43 AM
They're still slugging it out in the Singles - Peya is 6'4, 4'4, Ad on Slanars serve. If he makes the break now he'll come out to serve for the match after the change of ends.......

EDIT - back to Deuce.

Good start - hold to love by our guys serving first :)

With serve to 2-2 (only 2 pts against the serve - both to JRays). (only 10 mins gone - must be short rallys).

JRays not so good - a bp against them, deuce, hold for 3-2.

janeInScotland
20-05-2010, 01:15 PM
still with serve (JRays score given first).

deVderM hold to 15 for 3-3.
JRays ... hold to 15 for 4-3.
deVderM hold to 15 for 4-4.
JRays ... save 1bp, broken to 30

janeInScotland
20-05-2010, 01:25 PM

There is a live stream here - http://www.csstradivari.it/css_files/index_01.htm but you cannot see the second court very well.

2mp's to the other team
:(

Jays lose 4'6, 4'7(4).
They only had 53 points to the oppo's 64 but in reality with a scoreline like that just 4 or 5 points could have swung the score in their favour; disappointing.........

Peyar take the first set 6'3 but only by dint of winning the DD.
Eatic showing signs of being on terms after a disastrous start so maybe, just maybe they'll do better in the 2nd set.

the second semifinal's on LS but not started yet.

Peya won his singles in 3 sets (2 TBs) in 2hr 40 mins. He must be getting used to the courts :rolling:

janeInScotland
21-05-2010, 05:17 PM
Another 2hrs 8mins on court for Peya - and another tight match - he & Slanar win: 6-4, 6-7(10), 11-9.

So he'll have a singles SF and a doubles Final.
