Thanks. couple of questions

1. Why are the Murrays ranked higher than Parrot/Polasek (both ranked 55)

2. Who might withdraw?

1. I suspect the singles rank takes precedence - see #12 and #13 where the singles guys are ahead of dubs on same points.
2. Your guess is as good as anybody's.....
3. Remember there will also be some on-site sign in teams who could kick all the alternates into touch.

...

yes - I didn't think to check higher in the list. It must really annoy the "proper" doubles teams.

Am I right that there are 24 teams in the draw?

Probably not a lot of chance of Andy and Jamie playing.

Probably not a lot of chance of Andy and Jamie playing.I hope they do get in - and I'm sure the MC organisers will be keen to give the most recent Masters Champion a place...........

It's a great way for Andy to acclimatise - get rid the jet lag and used to the courts.
+++ it'd be really good to see the brothers have a decent run in the doubles.

I wonder why Max isn't entered here - I'm sure Ram is regretting changing things up partnering Knowle here but no looking back.

Jamie/Andy would need some luck with higher ranked singles players not signing up on site but Monte Carlo has a pretty relaxed atmosphere + the players really enjoy it there so it's probably more unprobable than probable that they will get in. Fingers crossed though! :D

Maybe Max is looking for an 'onsite sign in' partner ranked high enough to get a good draw?

Ram would have been his best bet though. He's the highest ranked doubles player who isn't playing with his regular partner. An onsite singles player doesn't merit a seeding.

Maybe he can talk Rafa into playing doubles with him.

Rafa seems to be very happy playing doubles with Marc Lopez this year.

Fitzy
10-04-2009, 08:24 PM
Well I hope he doesn't play with Lopez in MC, because it would mean that the pairing was given yet another wildcard at a Masters Series event. While they won the title in Doha, the field there was not nearly as strong as a Masters event, and I think two Masters Series wildcards is enough for Rafa in doubles. He should partner Robredo again so that they both can properly try and defend their title.

I just hope Andy and Jamie gets in and have a good run as Jamie needs a good tournament, and the extra practice wont do Andy any harm

I don't somehow think they are going to make it into Monte Carlo.

We won't know until later this evening.
The Doubles Draw is due around 6pm (5pm our time) but they are not usually very good at publishing it quickly and there is no 'live' draw.

Am I right that, if Andy/Jamie don't get in, Jamie doesn't count a zero for it in his rankings? (hope that makes sense)

Fitzy

Jamie and Andy did not get into the draw. The onsite acceptance was the same as the direct acceptance (combined ranking of 51).

Yes, really disappointing but knew it may well be tough to make it. I see that Nadal didn't get a wild card this time.

Will Jamie hang around in case of an Alternate slot I wonder?

Will Jamie hang around in case of an Alternate slot I wonder?

Probably unless he wants to quickly dash to a challenger (there are ones in Rome, Mexico City and Johannesburg next week).

Allan
11-04-2009, 09:30 PM
If he's going to one it'll have to be Rome as the other are thousands of miles away.

patmoren
12-04-2009, 06:13 AM
I hope he does, he needs all the match play he can get at the moment, until he turns his game around.

Since Jamie isn't in the MC draw we've set up 2 Forecasting Comps for this event.......................

FTM for the whole event as usual (but excluding how Jamie will do).

Masters Match-ups - which is done by round for the doubles teams.
Very similar to the comp set up by Kayce for the Grand Slams....

It'd be great if everyone had a go so we can see if it's good to do for future Masters?
At the moment it won't count for FTM scoring.

2hrs left to enter!!!

The first surprise in the doubles already as Mello and Sa seem to go down pretty easily 6-1, 6-4 to Djokovic and Troicki!

janeInScotland
13-04-2009, 09:34 PM
Yea - have Djokovic/Troicki played together for Serbia?

JAMES4579
14-04-2009, 06:58 PM
Not that I know of, Troicki played with Zimonjic in the Spain tie and Zim also previously played with Nole.

JAMES4579
18-04-2009, 07:51 PM
Well it's the top two the Bryans and Nestor/Zim in the final as both matches went the distance. Firstly the Bryans came through a really tight semi taking it 13-11 in the champions tiebreak over Dhouly and Paes. A pity though that apparently only 500 were there to see it, even if it was early! Nestor and Zim came from behind but ended the run of Djokovic and Troicki 10-5 in the breaker.

Allan

Nestor and Zimonjic dominated the Bryans in the final 6-4 6-1!
